The Rain

This weekend the weather has been in the cycle of afternoon showers. Occasionally the rain has been heavy and the thunder and lighting has been intense.
Nate and I went out in the garage to watch the rain on Saturday. We snuggled up in the chair, wrapped up in the ki-ki and watched the activity. After a few rounds of the farting and giggling game we learned how to say "holy cow" at the loud thunder. It was some good father-son time, hopefully it will prevent him from being scared during a future storm.

When your hot

Kailee scored 8 (eight) goals in her 30 minute soccer game today!
Nice job. By the end of the game she was trying to help other kids on
her team score! Team work is easier when your doing so well.

Nose against the glass.....

We are having a new concrete patio poured this week.....Nate (as you might imagine) has not left the window/patio door all day....scoops, hammers, noisy jack-hammers and ground leveling machines....(those are all technical construction terms of course)...he was amazed...

Kailee was amazed for a short time...then a little annoyed that the noise was disrupting High 5...a TV show with singing....

Boys will be boys....
Today was the first day of truly summer weather....high 80's...good enough for mom to drag out the hose and sprinkler for a little cooling off...Kailee, Annika and Fletcher spent hours running through, resting beach towels and playing with toys in the water....I see a lot of sun in my future....and a lot of wet, muddy grass.

Toddler Chuck E Cheese?

Last week we went to a toddler version of "Chuck E Cheese" with Auntie Laura, Cousin Issac and Popi France in Colo Spgs....the kids had a good time....it was tough to keep track of them all amongst the dress-up clothes, jump castles, tables, merry go rounds and rooms filled with toys.....

We managed to leave with everyone who came....

The big boy bed...

We got a great deal on Criag's List for this bed & dresser set for Nate's room...couldn't pass it up...

After a little "getting used to"...Nate finally loves his new big boy bed (as much as any nearly 2 year child could). Each morning he wakes, rises and kicks the door "Mommy, Mommy"...each morning I go open the door and he runs to the bed to show me where he slept....cute!

Best part of the story for me....he has to pound on the door...because he cannot turn the knob yet....it's the little things that make me happy!

Treats for the Kids

Neither one of them could finish off those "kid sized" menu items. Probably a good thing.
