Return Trip.....

The return trip included a few more naps...luckily...and a little more whining...but not bad all in all. They watched 2 movies on the return home...2 more than on the way out....quiet time....We stopped this time in Amarillo...I do not recommend it...but we needed the break. Left early again 3:50AM and arrived in Amarillo at dinner time....the new toys gleamy shine wearing off fast. We got up Saturday AM and hit the road without gracing the pool, which is okay since you could not see the bottom of the pool anyway (YUCK)...and it was only 3 foot deep at one end....ouch. We packed up trying to touch as little as possible in a Holiday Inn that had seen MUCH better days...Arrived home to the neighborhood kids playing outside...AHHH...its good to be home!

Cousin David was kind enough to take Brian and I....and all the kids....fishing on the lake...which is also a post to the gulf...so it has some BIG ship and some BIG fish........too bad we only caught the little ones...and a few crabs!Chris's big catch....nice job Chris!

2400 miles in the Prius.......

What...we traveled to LA just 9 days ago and came back just 3 days ago....I hardly remember the pain...only the FUN!The following posts will chronicle our trip....We left at 3:54am on Sunday....the kids were so excited they did not sleep right away as I had hoped. They did rest from about 5am to 6am....then we stopped for our first "breakfast" at McD's....at which I sadly had to explain to the kids what hash browns were....(one of many indicators that eating on the road with kids who don't eat fast food was going to be tough).
Day 2 started slower...as we had planned...with some AM pool time and relaxed breakfast at the hotel....we arrived at about 4pm in Lake Charles!
